What is Refurbished?

Refurbished means that the guitar had something wrong with it and it was fixed by a professional.
The result is that the customer gets a great quality instrument for a better than new price.
Why do we sell refurbished guitars here? As a small music store, we have access to all of the top brands: Fender, Fender Squier, Epiphone, Yamaha, Guild, Ovation, Takamine, Jackson, Ibanez etc.
If we tried to have dealer accounts with all of these guitar companies to sell new gear, we would already be out of business.
Refurbished guitars are a great value and most of the time have the orginal stickers and protective covering still on them. Rest assured that we don't buy refurbished guitars that have had major body damage like a cracked neck. Usually the damage is in the set up or electronics.
We use a company out of Nashville, Tennessee call Musical Instrument Reclaimation Company. They have had many years of experience and the top guitar companies trust them to refurbish their guitars correctly.
We also sell new guitars by Ovation, Takamine, and Hamer.
Come on by and see our selection. We get a selection of different guitars in every two weeks.

My Story

Some people have asked me tell my story of why I wanted to open a music store.

Back in high school my friend James and I would drive all the way to Woodman Ave. in the San Fernando Valley to visit The Valley Drum Shop. We lived in the Conejo Valley about a half an hour away (a big journey for me at the time). The Valley Drum Shop was the coolest place ever. It was better than any of the big music stores because of the people. A father and son ran the business. They were actually friendly and would take time to help. They would even let you test stuff out. One big draw of going there was the hope of meeting a famous drummer. The Valley Drum Shop made custom drums and they would sell them to people like Vinnie Colaiuta. We never met anyone famous but I always thought it would be cool to open a place like that.

After high school I worked in a yogurt store. It was the the country's best. Our friends the Dutton's owned the store. I saw how much work it was to run a small business and I also saw the dedication that it takes. If you don't work hard, keep the books straight, and turn a profit you only hurt yourself. It is a motivation like no other to wake up in the morning and work hard.

When we moved to Montana, I tried to convince myself that I could work for the State in a desk job. But I knew I would go postal. So we have thrown ourselves into this. We love it and God continues to bring peace about opening it everyday.

The picture is of the bass drum pedal that I still use to today. The man at the Valley Drum Shop inspired me to buy the best.
